Hello everyone. I hope you all had a great week. Today Courtney and I decided to kind of tag team. On Wednesday of last week Courtney’s house posted money saving tips for adults and today we figured why not include the littles in saving money towards a goal. Now I can’t take full credit for this so lets give a big shout out to my beautiful co-creator Courtney for making this great printable for us!
So, now that we know what we are doing lets talk about how we are going to do it. So Courtney gave me a copy of the map a few weeks ago and let me tell you it is so so simple. So on Monday of this week I sat down with Rayne and we talked about saving money. Usually Rayne is very good at saving money not so good at spending it so I explained with this map that in the next 6 months she could save her money to buy something REALLY COOL for herself; she could start saving with a purpose! She was excited. We also told her that if she saves, once a month she can buy a small treat for herself to keep her encouraged, then she got real excited. Rayne is now almost done with week one and she is doing great. She is super encouraged to do her chores so she can save her money for… Bubble Tea and slime supplies!
As you can see from Rayne’s map it’s super easy for a child to do and understand.
I think it’s important to try and teach kids young how to save and spend money with intention. I believe all too often saving and spending with intention is something we learn later on in life so if we can plant the seeds early on they will grow with the knowledge. Hopefully some of you start your own littles on our savings map and I hope to post an update when Rayne reaches her goal. Happy Hunting and as always Love Bennita’s house!
