Blogmas Day 17 – 5 Christmas Cookies We Love

To be completely honest with you guys I usually don’t make cookies from scratch anymore. Most of the time when Sean wants cookies I don’t have the time to make them from scratch because he requests them the day before he wants them… at like 5 p.m. So usually I make cookies out of those bags of mix, which you do have to add stuff to and still bake but it isn’t truly homemade.

The time of year that the cookies are homemade is of course Christmas! And I would like to share the 5 cookie recipes that we always use.

Almond Spritz Cookies

These are hands down Sean’s favorite cookies and it is his number one request for me to make when it is Christmas time.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

The classic that basically everyone loves and I just follow the Nestle Toll House recipe on the back of the bag. You can’t go wrong with the classics.

Snickerdoodles Cookies

Sean’s second most requested cookie at Christmas time! Snickerdoodles are an interesting cookie in my opinion because of the odd tanginess they have.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

My grandmother made these every year and truthfully I don’t really like them that much but there are a family favorite.

Peanut Butter Cookies

Sean’s third choice is the basic peanut butter cookies. These classic cookies always turn out soft and perfect for dipping in milk.

I hope you give our favorite cookies a try and maybe link your favorites in the comments below.

    1. Not many people in younger generations (my generation or younger) know what spritz/press cookies are because it’s just an old tradition. I remember making these with my grandmother’s old cookie press and it was a nightmare. If you try them, make sure you get one of the cookie presses with an easy squeeze handle. You will thank me later 🙂
