Who doesn’t love a fall slow cooker/crockpot meal? Well.. maybe the people of ‘This Is Us’ and I really hope no one owns a slow cooker from the mid 70’s!
When it comes to fall the slow cooker is number one in my house. You can just throw everything in and not worry about it for hours. At dinner time you magically have a satisfying meal. Okay maybe it’s not magic but you get what I mean. Most slow cookers also hold enough to feed a crowd if needed so with football season in full swing you can have something to feed everyone.
Here are some of my favorite slow cooker recipes from around the web.
Bacon Cheeseburger Soup
A comforting and filling soup for those cold days when you also want to enjoy a familiar taste. This creamy soup is full of potatoes, ground beef, and bacon giving it that classic bacon cheeseburger taste.
Sweet Potato Stew
Sweet potatoes have started to be very common in my house these last few years. I never really gave them a go before then but one I did I loved them. I can eat them just backed with butter but Sean on the other hand needs variety. Enter this stew (replaced roast with ground beef of course).
This isn’t a new soup to my recipe box and I have been making it on the stove top for years now. This recipe however shows me that I don’t need to slave over the stove for more that an hour to make Sean’s favorite soup recipe!
Ultimate Crockpot Chili
Just like with the Zuppa I have always made chili on the stop top. Granted I have always used my Grandmothers recipe and never varied from it. This recipe was a bit of a game changer, the long cook time gives the flavors more time to develop making it just that much better.
Loaded Baked Potato Soup
Very similar to the bacon cheese burger soup, the loaded baked potato soup gives you that familiar flavor in soup form. Warm and cozy on a chilly fall day.
Slow Cooker Turkey Chili
A bit of a healthier chili with ground turkey instead of the usual beef. Ground turkey is one item that has also made its way into our house for many reasons. I have found many recipes that I have been able to convert to ground turkey and we both love them, you can’t even tell in most of the recipes.
Mexican Street Corn Chowder
Corn chowder with a twist. Sean was a little wary of this at first but after trying it her was surprise. Of course I altered mine slightly because, well there are a few things in it that I just don’t eat.
Chicken Rice Soup
This one Sean did not eat, didn’t even try. Sean is very picky when it comes to chicken and putting it in soup is a BIG no no. For me though it was like eating chicken noodle soup with out the noodles. That classic flavor we all love in the fall.
Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate
Well this is different. I wanted to include this because I will be making it soon but haven’t tried it yet. Pumpkin patch day is coming and my menu is complete, topped off this this drink. Here is to hoping it turns out great!
I know it’s still early in the season but I hope you are loving fall as much as I am!
