In just 5 short weeks I will be taking part in the 2019 Winter Pineapple Classic 5K!
Am I ready for it? No… Just not even close to being ready, but I am still going to do it even if I have to walk most of it.
The Winter Pineapple Classic is a fundraiser 5k obstacle course at King County’s (Washington State) Marymoor Park on 11.10.19. Pineapple is not timed and is a family friendly event. All participants carry a pineapple and most dress in costume. The Winter Pineapple Classic raises money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, helping finance the research needed to find a cure.
More about the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society can be found here.
A little about the team I am on, Roaring for Nola.
Roaring for Nola was founded by Nicole Fujie in honor of her mother. Nicole’s mother was diagnosed with non Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2016. Then underwent a stem cell transplant in 2018. However the cancer came back and she lost her battle in November 2018.
So in 5 weeks I will put on a costume that is undetermind at this time, carry a pineapple and do a 5k obstacle course on November 10.
